Help: Moving white stuff on top when selecting INSTALL.

ScreenHello, I'm new to GNU/Linux.

This is my first time using this Linux and Crunchban is my first.
Please be patient, I am not familiar with the terms.
Here it goes. Yesterday, I downloaded #! to install it on my Asus Eee PC 2g Surf to give it a light OS.

I have an idea about Live Session and decided to try it.
I downloaded #! 32bit for Older Devices AND Unetbootin. (I decided to use unetbootin instead of Win32DiskImager because I've read that it corrupts your flashdrive and it did corrupt one of my flashdrive, and the instructions on using unetbootin is easier to follow.)
Then I plugged it in my 2g surf, booted the USB flashdrive then the #! screen appeared.
I select Live Session first to give it a try the reboot my device and select INSTALL, it froze for a minute then white graphics that looks like "mini screens appeared" it went on like that even after I leave it for 2 hours.
I will attach a picture of how it looks like.
I haven't found a solution yet. Please help.

Re: Help: Moving white stuff on top when selecting INSTALL.

Select the live session from the GRUB menu and press "e" then add this to the end of the line that starts with "linux":

nomodeset

Now press <Ctrl>+x (at the same time) to boot the modified entry.

If the live session works fine, you can install #! and make the above change permanent.

Re: Help: Moving white stuff on top when selecting INSTALL.

Hello, Head_on_a_Stick!

When I selecet Live Session nothing happens when I press e. But there's a not below that says Press <Tab> to edit options. I tried it but there's no line that starts with "linux"
Anyway, I found a solution through google image search, somebody had the same problem and fixed it with selecting the Install option and pressing <Tab> the editing the value of vga to "vga=769"

I have a different problem now, I have went past this problem and got stuck on failed step: Installing the system.

Does the live environment work on your machine?

There is a possibility that unetbootin has failed -- it doesn't work with the latest Debian Stable ISO images.

I can recommend USBWriter

wouldn't it be possible to use the dd method from a live system? if you have a(nother) spare usb stick & port?
