Heya folks!
I'm trying to set up my laptop to utilize my bt headphones and am not having much luck bending Google to my will.
First off, my bt dongle is a Panda BT 4.0 adapter, which reviews and comments led me to believe worked swimmingly in linux. From the incredibly optimistic instructs:
For Linux Users:
Plug the Panda BT 4.0 Adapter into your Linux computer and let linux install the drivers for the Panda Adapter. You should be able to pair any Bluetooth keyboard/mouse to your computer after that. You might need to install additional software if you want to use other Bluetooth devices with your Linux computer.
So dongle plugged in and nada, so I began doing some checks, with the assistance of the Goog:
schwim@schwim-lt-UbOb:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/bluetooth start
[ ok ] Starting bluetooth (via systemctl): bluetooth.service.
schwim@schwim-lt-UbOb:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/bluetooth status
● bluetooth.service - Bluetooth service

So these are all the commands I found to check status of bt devices and services but I can't get past that point to the point in which I actually resolve the issue.
Could someone school me on getting this set up? I use BT a lot on my phone but have never set it up on one of my PC's.
[EDIT]Got a little further:
schwim@schwim-lt-UbOb:~$ hcitool scan
Scanning ...
08:FD:0E:AA:43:60 Schwims_S4
CC:6D:A0:39:00:26 Roku Player
And to connect:
schwim@schwim-lt-UbOb:~$ bluez-simple-agent hci0 08:FD:0E:AA:43:60
RequestConfirmation (/org/bluez/1952/hci0/dev_08_FD_0E_AA_43_60, 888485)
Confirm passkey (yes/no): yes
Release
New device (/org/bluez/1952/hci0/dev_08_FD_0E_AA_43_60)
Which should have connected to my phone. I got a confirmation on my phone and it looked like it showed a connection, but my BT icon shows disconnected on the phone and I don't see the file system anywhere on the laptop.

Well, I think I managed to muddle through it. I can send a file from the computer to the phone on it, it just doesn't seem to mount the phone storage as a drive.
