If you're ready to remove the 586 kernel...
sudo apt-get purge linux-image-3.16.0-4-586

temporarily change sources to stretch, update and...
sudo apt-get install xfce4-power-manager
That's not a good idea...
The package has dependencies that it will pull in that may (will) cause problems later.

You're right, strike that suggestion.

Both kernels get installed when you install to disk. Just go to "Advanced options for BunsenLabs GNU/LInux" in your new grub screen and choose the 586 kernel. When your sure everything's OK, you can remove the other kernel (and the 586 will become default)...
hhh@alpha:~$ sudo apt-get purge linux-image-3.16.0-4-686-pae
Run dpkg -l to see what the kernels in the ISO are (in the future). I'll make an edit to the announcement post to clarify this.
thanks for that valuable information.
maybe put a good step by step on how to in there on setting up and removing kernels for others too that'd be nice with formatting even
how to
set me up
and
remove the part of me
you don't need to run
me
got a love them free formatting options lol
I already said that bl-welcome is broken in this build and how to upgrade to the fixed version. Re-read the relevant post, run bl-welcome when your new packages are built and open a new support thread if you still have problems.
yeah well that explains it doesn't it? I got this ISO via second hand post. sorry for the not so needed hey this is not working post..

Salute! I only ran the pae in Vbox (not enough time to install and test thoroughly). Just one remark: file-roller and evince (must be installed per bl-script) have a complete other look than the rest of the gtk-applications. For my own custom cb-replica i switched to engrampa and atril from the mate-packages. Same function - better look. Just pulls in a few mate-dependencies, but i think, it's worth a try...

Now installed on my lap-top (circa 2007) and for an Alpha 1 it's A-1!
Loving it very much indeed!

Sector11 wrote:replacing Leafpad with geany
BTW, for any of the missing packages, you can just install/remove them...
sudo apt-get install geany
sudo apt-get purge geany && sudo apt-get --purge autoremove
Or via the right-click menu...System>Synaptic... and search for the packages you want to install or remove.
I have no problem with leafpad other than the Dev Team was talking 'geany', however your idea of getting a CD size ISO makes leafpad a viable choice.
I use "get" and "aremv", along with others, all the time - there is no 'synaptic' on my system.

^Only for you Sector: starting seeding again. I will leave my laptop on during night.
And, I now have 'Ratio: 1.2'
TBH, looking for 64 bit version.
And: live BL i386 (pae) seems to work OK. Install has problem with bl-welcome, but hhh explained that it is expected.

No defence needed ... I was going to leave my computer running last night but my wife had it last and shut it down. So this AM I started seeding again. Looks like it's getting out here ...

I have been seeding all evening but no takers apart from 15 to 20 minutes at the very beginning :-(
I have only tested the live CD on a virtual machine for a few minutes so far. No issues noticed, felt snappy enough. More after work tomorrow.

All good, this is a "soft opening". I'm rebuilding with the most recent Bunsen packages and we'll do a major announcement with both 32 and 64 bit builds.

You have placed that post in Help & Support (Stable), but BL32 is still in alpha, so not stable. I wouldn't have searched for my post in that.

Beautiful, I look forward to testing this. I'll seed from school until the next release. Thanks to all the devs!

Stable here refers to the Debian packages (jessie), but that's a good point. One for the forum Moderators.
I'll seed from school until the next release.
We'll be doing another release very soon which will include 64bit and fixes to the Welcome script (bl-welcome). Check back this weekend, hopefully!

@Shade -- it's not only the double click that has this issue even single clicks are registered with a 1-1.5 second delay especially on thunar .. thank you for the suggestion though will check that file

^ Not for me. No noticeable delay here.

First time it's been raised. Open a support thread, please. I would think you should include what computer and processor you use, what kernel you're using and does it happen in Live mode as well (to start).

There are 5 trackers, but only 4 peers, and its nearly 18.00 in Europe. Not good at all.
I'd add laptop in a few minutes.

Thank you for your help and guidance everyone

For the next builds, why not get the iso's up at sourceforge. Because there are some people that doesn't touch torrents or torrent-clients. Just a suggestion.
