Re: I Switched from mplayer2 to mpv

Many thanks HoaC, also twoion for wonderful scripts. I'll check one by one.... DAMN AWESOME!

mpv the best thing, the right thing.

ohnonot, me too discovered yesterday when i was doing some tests. Just great you know smile

I am trying to setup "mpv-stats" already put it at ~/.config/mpv/scripts/
but not show any stats when i press "i", also tried to change path on .mpv/scripts/ still not show any video info.

also made a folder "lua-settings" within "stats.conf"

font=Sans
font_size=9
font_color=262626
border_size=0.5
border_color=FFFFFF
alpha=70
duration=5
debug=yes

on "input.conf" there is a keybind like

i script_binding stats

still nothing info shown... neutral

when i open a video via terminal

nili@corejess:~$ mpv /home/nili/Videos/TOPCATS/150413_TopCats_Prelims_WEB_2014-Akamai-5000k.mp4
     input: Command 'script_binding' not found.
     input: Command was defined at /home/nili/.config/mpv/input.conf:38.
   cplayer: Playing: /home/nili/Videos/TOPCATS/150413_TopCats_Prelims_WEB_2014-Akamai-5000k.mp4
   cplayer: [stream] Video (+) --vid=1 (*) (h264)
   cplayer: [stream] Audio (+) --aid=1 --alang=und (*) (aac)
   cplayer: File tags:
   cplayer:  major_brand: isom
   cplayer:  minor_version: 1
   cplayer:  compatible_brands: isom
   cplayer:  creation_time: 2015-04-27 05:44:26
   cplayer: AO: [alsa] 48000Hz stereo 2ch float
   cplayer: VO: [x11] 1280x720 => 1280x720 yuv420p
statusline: AV: 00:00:00 / 00:01:12 (0%) A-V: -0.000
   cplayer:
   cplayer:
   cplayer: Exiting... (Quit)

I should perhaps read better to understand more clearly, first attempt on my part just poor. Any direction please? read me shows how to but I shall not stand out making it sad

Re: I Switched from mplayer2 to mpv

It may be that the mpv version in jessie is too old to accomodate scripts and configurations based on the current release (0.9.2) hmm Same for the error you're seeing.

Maybe: delete the setting and let the script bind itself to 'i' (it will). Possible you'll encounter another error:

[stats]
[stats] stack traceback:
[stats]         /home/joj/.mpv/scripts/stats.lua:51: in main chunk
[stats]         [C]: in ?
[stats]         [C]: in ?
[stats] Lua error: /home/joj/.mpv/scripts/stats.lua:51: attempt to index local 'options' (a boolean value)

which means you will have change the line

options.read_options(o)

to

read_options(o)

Re: I Switched from mplayer2 to mpv

^ I don't even know if that version supports scripts. Try loading the script explicitly using the --script $PATH option. If that doesn't work it means there is no support for scripts at all...

Re: I Switched from mplayer2 to mpv

Usage

Place stats.lua in your ~/.config/mpv/scripts/ or ~/.mpv/scripts/ folder to autoload the script. Alternatively load it with --script=<path>

Re: I Switched from mplayer2 to mpv

Yes, despite having versioned 'releases' mpv keeps changing rapidly, it can have more than 100 new changes per week. Debian's release model is not really an advantage here. sid and stretch offer I think the best deal here. deb-multimedia also doesn't have the 0.9.x series yet.

Just amazing to read the mpv updating status, Awesome!

I am patient and waiting for the version 0.9.2 to reach Debian Stable.
