Re: Your Openbox session on Debian jessie or sid

Ok, thanks for the feedback. Always use --no-install-recommends if disk space is an issue...

sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends thunar

I usually also create a text file with the name of the package I'm installing and then copy/paste what apt is pulling in so I can remove it later if I want.

What icon theme? Does not sound right.

Re: Your Openbox session on Debian jessie or sid

Cool. Might be worth throwing the appropriate install directory in the README. Going to try it out on my netbook :-)

Re: Your Openbox session on Debian jessie or sid

OK I'm probably late to the game and tried to use the instructions on the 1st post.

-packages.crunchbang.org is dead for now?
-bunsen is the successor to this? (and maybe 1-click-ish?)

Re: Your Openbox session on Debian jessie or sid

I don't really need an exact crunchbang clone, really more of just a list of which packages to install from debian jessie to get a reasonable looking open box setup, that plays well battery and wifi-wise with a laptop, and can be used to do some light/moderate programming, data analysis with R, web surfing and music playing.    I figure if I can get enough of the packages to work, I'm ok.

So far, most things work on my testing vm, except the toolbar and missing icons in thunar since I can't download them from packages.crunchbang.org lol

Addendum: erm, also I should add that I was using the Wally instructions so maybe I should post there...woops.

Re: Your Openbox session on Debian jessie or sid

nouveGnomeGray is very pretty, but I have problems distiguishing some of them at small sizes - like, in the tint2 toolbar. Because of the single colour, some have to be rather detailed to convey differences, if you see what I mean. I can't really tell Iceweasel from Icedove in the toolbar, for example. Might just be my old eyes...
