+1.

@computermouth, although I've said I find your avatar/logo distasteful, I do think it's creative. And core has backed up his "Do whatever the eff" license, so you go girl. Any familiarity with the band P.I.L.? May the road rise with you.

Is it me, or has this thread gone beyond tedious? As I think back, it reminds me of certain people in the martial arts world who got into terrific pissing matches once upon a time (and still do) about "lineage" and who could rightfully call him-/herself master, guru, or grand wazoo in name-that-art-style of kicky-punchy.
In Linuxland, we now have an attempt to recreate or somehow replace a distro, whereby an "outsider" has dared to upstage "insiders." I suspect this isn't unusual--just look at all the distros that come and go.
Perhaps Corenominal was on to something when he recommended Debian Vanilla? I don't know, but I think I understand why some folks take that route or settle with distros like Mint, Fedora, OpenSUSE, or [gasp] Ubuntu. Ultimately is all Linux and about "choice," i.e., what you choose to run or not. Deep inside, it's more or less all the same; the main difference after all is said and done is the WM/DE and how the end user decides to tweak it or not.
Is a pissing match between a "rightful heir" to #! with or without Corenominal's blessing--whether #!++ or BL--necessary or productive? Please, let it go and move on. Thanks.

I swear I've heard this before but I cant figure out where! I like it though.

I agree with literally every part of your statement. I wanted a clone, thought "I can do that", and did it. Put out my first version built on tape and string, figuring maybe six people would download it and that five of them would hate it. The whole thing exploded in a way I hadn't expected. #!++ is just a fun project for me. I only objected to people suggesting I'm an opportunistic thief or "trying to hijack the community".
Now powered by #!++, a #! revival project on Debian Jessie.

Good. The major players in this thread agree that it has gone on just too long enough.
