AllGray: a light monochromatic theme

I have released the theme I've been working on for a while. It's a nice simple flat theme for openbox/gtk.

That screenshot is bringing me out in a rash -- I remember having to use those horrid Mickey Mouse devices in the late '80s...
They were sat next to gleaming Sun SPARCstations and seemed like children's toys in comparison.

@OP: Lovely theme, far nicer than Apple's pathetic efforts

@Head_on_a_Stick I used to have to use those machines in primary school, but I have to admit a fondness for The Oregon Trail and Sim City which I was initially exposed to on old Apple hardware

Anyway, trying my best not to derail the thread...oops....

Just downloaded again the rar pack, or the DeviantART link is the same or the issue is not fixed yet because the minus icon still missing.

this is easy to fixed only if i only had the - icon

For healthy eyes that strong contrast is not good. It makes you tired quicker. For people with bad eyesight it is not good either; menubars are barely readable and the sliders barely visible.
The overall impression is good. I like simple, flat themes. But one can use it only for a short time and will be tired with it quickly.
I know the goal was to make a high contrast theme, but it is not suitable for most people in the long run.

Zoidberg, menubar, sliders, scrollbars are the task of gtk theme.
If we've issue with our eyes there are plenty gtk theme dark, black, gray. I have tried different themes a year ago Deb8 with ACYL icons is the best minimal combination imo.

Ok, apparently it's not fixed.

I will need to go through and find the missing icon- I replaced gtk-remove (and thus all the ones that were symlinked to it) so it must be a different icon that is missing. This will take some time.

Great less-is-more effort!

The only complaint I have right now has to do with the low-contrast of the text in the window head (the correct english terminology eludes me for the moment). It can be a little hard to read under some ambient light conditions. At least for this 55-year old.

Those icons ar just great.

I have conteplated the value of an almost all-grey version where important information is highlighted using color bit all the rest is kept as is.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. I have young eyes and sometimes I forget not everyone else does too!

I am busy right now but I will probably change that and see how I like it, when I get a chance. Stay tuned.

Hi everyone.

I have updated the theme with two main changes: support for gtk3 is now built in, and the theme is now patched so that chrome uses the correct color for the tab bar. It was pulling a darker color before and it didn't look good.

Here's a screenshot showing how the chrome theme now renders. Yeah, I introduced some color back.
