Do you use CrunchBang?

So I'm curious, we have people from all over the Linux globe here - that has to say something about the forum - so I'm curious:

Do you use CrunchBang?

I use CrunchBang
[] original source.list (with possible additions)
[] with original source.list edited to use testing (with possible additions, less waldorf repos)
[] with original source.list edited to use sid (with possible additions, less waldorf repos)

CrunchBang is my:
[] only system
[] primary - dual boot
[] not my primary - dual boots

The list is GPL - edit as required.*

I use CrunchBang
[x] original source.list (with possible additions)
[] with original source.list edited to use testing (with possible additions, less waldorf repos)
[] with original source.list edited to use sid (with possible additions, less waldorf repos)

CrunchBang is my:
[x] only system - today ... more coming I think
[] primary - dual boot
[] not my primary - dual boots

  • dual computers indeed!

Re: Do you use CrunchBang?

I use CrunchBang (ON MY SECONDARY LAPTOP)
[X] original source.list (with possible additions)
[] with original source.list edited to use testing (with possible additions, less waldorf repos)
[] with original source.list edited to use sid (with possible additions, less waldorf repos)
CrunchBang is my:
[X] only system (ON THAT LAPTOP)
[] primary - dual boot
[] not my primary - dual boots

However, I now don't use it as my main OS. But it's really a testament to how great these forums are because the knowledge I have gained here has driven me to be more of a tinkerer, which I consider to be a very good thing.  big_smile

Re: Do you use CrunchBang?

On my work & travel lappy: original source.list, only system. Reliable, gets the work done.
On test toy lappy: not my primary - dual boots. Tweaked to the point of being unusable, needs a total cleanup.
On my desktop machine: only in 2 VMs for testing purposes (one for sidifying, software testing in stable in another).
On mini:  no CB ATM.

Re: Do you use CrunchBang?

I use Crunchbang only on live-USB-sticks. I use Debian Wheezy (Stable) with Openbox, without display-manager and with  Waldorf-Theme. I use tint2 with another configuration and i use my own openbox-menu.xml. I tested some cb-packages like "cb-exit" but i acually do not use them.

Waldorf Theme:

~ When jessie hits stable you could upgrade crunchbang and keep it alive a bit longer.

Start your own thread here.  ]:D

You do have a point though.  I guess those who don't use CrunchBang can just respond:  I don't.

I use Arch, but I've run #! for several months. The Great Debian Bureaucracy and frequent backporting didn't suit my needs... but this forum certainly does.  cool

You must be counted too, if S11 wants to count percentages. (Results are unreliable in any case.)

Not for stats ... just curious "who" since it's a well known fact "we have people from all over the Linux globe here".  big_smile

Do you use CrunchBang?

YHcJA9SX.jpg

I use CrunchBang on laptop with multiple partitions
[x] original source.list (with possible additions)
[x] with original source.list edited to use testing (with possible additions, less waldorf repos)
[] with original source.list edited to use sid (with possible additions, less waldorf repos)

CrunchBang is my:
[x] only system - multi boot
[] primary - dual boot
[] not my primary - dual boots

I use CrunchBang on desktop with multiple partitions
[] original source.list (with possible additions)
[x] with original source.list edited to use testing (with possible additions, less waldorf repos)
[x] with original source.list edited to use sid (with possible additions, less waldorf repos)

CrunchBang is my:
[] only system
[x] primary - multi boot
[] not my primary - dual boots

So if I've got say 6 different partitions, with various versions of Crunchbang, does that count as 6 entries in the survey?  tongue

Description:
(1): My laptop Inchiquin, running Waldorf with a couple modifications to the sources.list, mainly to add the MEPIS repo for the backported libc6
(2): My desktop Irwin, running Waldorf (Sid based); primary OS = Gentoo
(3): Several virtual machines, for example the testing system on my laptop, my writing machine Louth (take 1; screwed up locales to fix a newer libc6; still available, however not in use anymore), my writing machine Louth (take 2; backported libc6 using MEPIS repo, works as a charm), my testing system Power (backported libc6 using MEPIS repo)

I use CB on my Dell D630 as my primary OS. Works flawlessly, never had an issue with wireless, graphics cad, etc. Being a minimalist I love CB!
