I finally stopped tweaking gtk files - what a horrible process! At least I like the results on my boxes :)

It's in there somewhere. Whatever is inherited from the original authors, (GnuGPL & Creative Commons) but I have added a DWTFYL license :8

The OB theme is Creative Commons (no commercial use)

THIS LOOKS AWESOME (sticking with my existing icons for the moment though - the slight inconsistency that got introduced into the tint2 systray was too much for my OCPD )

I found the icons, downloaded them, and put them in the .icons folder, but they don't show up when I go to "User Interface Settings". 8)

That's why I have the folder icons available separately - in case of glitches. They should drop straight into the /usr/share/icons/Crunchbang/places/XX/ directories if you want to replace the #! defaults for example.

Did you restart lxappearance?

Did you change the name of the icon directory? If so then the name needs to match exactly with the "Name=" field in index.theme

Found a typo in one of the files, oops :8
(gtk-2.0/apps/thunar.rc)

If you have crunchy-dark-grey then copy it from there. Or if you don't want to d/l the whole theme again, then get thunar.rc from here

Now I've fixed thunar.rc, I don't like it now the effects are showing up! (indented selection effect in the side pane of Thunar). It is using an image, so if you don't like it then comment out "include "apps/thunar.rc"" at the end of gtkrc, or edit gtk-2.0/apps/thunar/sidebar_active.png. (Download archive has been updated)

Found a slight mis-match with selected_bg_color between gtk2/gtk3. Sorted this, and tweaked slightly.

Found a pixmap error showing up, and tracked it down to an incorrect filepath in the original theme. Fixed it and updated the main theme file.

You have nailed it. One of the few dark themes that are nice on the eyes, not garish or morose and cleanly done. Just well thought out and balanced. makes my old IBM t40 look super cool....

I see that you have a templates folder which is using an inherited icon, because I didn't bother to replace everything. If you want it to match, then look in the icons /places/xx subdirs, delete folder-templates.png, and replace it with a link to folder.png.
A quick way to do all the sizes is (change ICOPATH if you have the icons somewhere else, obviously)

$ ICOPATH=$HOME/.icons/IcyDark/places

$ for i in {16,22,24,32,48,64,96}; do rm $ICOPATH/$i/folder-templates.png;ln -sr $ICOPATH/$i/folder.png $ICOPATH/$i/folder-templates.png;done

Then do the same for the svg in the scalable directory.
