Re: Google Chrome 38.0.2125.104-1

Hi, not working for me, I have

Version 38.0.2125.101 (64-bit)

There are other threads on here about chrome issues at the moment - not sure if this is the same or a different problem. So would also be interested in any solutions.

Re: Google Chrome 38.0.2125.104-1

@hooliganshark...The OP is asking about .104, not .101.  .101 does have the issues.

I haven't tested extensively, but I went to the following sites and didn't experience the issues that occurred in the last two releases:

  • YouTube

  • Adobe

  • CNN

  • Lottery Site

@Krunchtime - understood thanks, I meant only to share experience with 64 bit version I have, installed via the script. I will try to get the .104 version. smile

Re: Google Chrome 38.0.2125.104-1

No lexi - the script gave me the 101 version. (That was a clean install of #! btw, update and upgrade, then using the script to install chrome.)

I just downloaded the latest version from the chrome website and installed it smile

Re: Google Chrome 38.0.2125.104-1

I just ran the install script and can confirm that, at the time I post this, the current google-chrome-stable for AMD64 is .104-1.

Selecting previously unselected package google-chrome-stable.
Unpacking google-chrome-stable (from .../google-chrome-stable_38.0.2125.104-1_amd64.deb) ...

Haven't run Chrome though, and looking forward to purging it. tongue

Excuse my ignorance, but what is this install-script that is being referred to?

I think it refers to the "Install Chromium Browser" menu item in the main menu" Network" pipemenu

Bah, I removed that from my menu. Do you happen to know its location?

Search for

cb-x-www-browser-pipemenu

Probably in /usr/bin or /usr/lib

Re: Google Chrome 38.0.2125.104-1

I think there may be a copy of the original menu structure hidden away somewhere in /etc/skel/...
Can't be sure though, not near a #! box ATM.

Re: Google Chrome 38.0.2125.104-1

This is what is in my (old) menu.xml

<menu execute="cb-x-www-browser-pipemenu" id="wwwbrowsers" label="WWW Browsers"/>
