Hello,
I would like to use SDL 2.0 with Geany. I have 1.2, and afaik it's the only available SDL in repository(I mean, I can't find 2.0 using synaptic). Same goes for gcc 4.8. I would like to check out newest features of C++11. How can I install SDL 2.0 and get it work with Geany?
Cheers!

libsdl2 is in jessie and sid. Both require an upgraded libc6, amongst other things. That's going to be quite a stretch. You might be better off compiling it yourself.
gcc 4.8 also in jessie and sid. Dependencies look more manageable.
Might be easier just to install a different distro from scratch.

I was able to compile SDL 2.0 (in both CrunchBang and Lubuntu) by following these instructions:

I'm not sure how to set it up in Geany, but this tutorial shows how it's done in Code::Blocks, and may be of some help:

Thank you FrightenedUser, I recently switched to C::B due to my familiarity with this IDE and useful functions.
Right now, my latest question remains. I have GCC 4.7 up and running. I would like to have GCC 4.8. I have gcc-base 4.8 on my pc(I downloaded it a while ago), but idk if it's useful for me, and what should I do to install G++ 4.8. Any help please?
And thank you all guys who reply to me

Is it really impossible, or this hard?

Not impossible, but challenging.

If you find yourself needing many newer packages than are available on Debian stable, you might be better off moving to sid.
