Re: DDoS Attack (part 1)

Would this be the reason the installer stops @ the gathering installation logs portion of the installer?

I'm using #! on an old computer as an additional computer at my business (and let me tell you, I freaking love #!). Hopefully this gets sorted out soon.

Re: DDoS Attack (part 1)

^ As far as I know it *shouldn't* affect a new original install until you try to update, and I just tried one in a VM (to recreate it) which completed successfully, but I might be missing something. I'm glad you like #! and we hope it's sorted out soon too!

Re: DDoS Attack (part 1)

So, there's no safe places on the interwebbz, not even in this tiny, lovely CB-world... I'm so sad...  sad  But I hope, that creepy little cracker (or team) cannot do anything wrong with the CB repos!

Thanks for letting us know MattsBMW! Yep, it's back up and welcome to the forum!

@All: It was probably a simple DDoS though I'm not going to call it all clear without corenominal's or a senior mod's blessing but I am looking through the package list to check timestamps and see if anything looks obviously out of place. So.... while you can upgrade, it's at your own risk until we get an official sign-off. (edit- nothing looked off when I checked)

Re: DDoS Attack (part 1)

I'm happy to report that the repo server is back online. Here is the update from the team at Linode:

> The null route on your Linode's IP address has been removed at this time and we have set this ticket to automatically close in 48 hours while we monitor for any additional issues.

Once again, apologies for the inconvenience and thank you all for your patience, understanding and kind words of support.

Re: DDoS Attack (part 1)

Thanx all. Installed, ran welcom script, upgraded, then dist-upgraded to jessie ( using this to avoid installing gnome3 ) and everything works perfect this far. Thanx again.
