I've been thinking this for a while, Crunchbang already has branches based on Stable and Testing, but why not a rolling-release dev branch based on Unstable?

Wasn't that mooted as 'Animal'?

There is also Linuxbbq "Darkside", sid and systemd for you!
I love #! more than my own kids. I told them and they sympathized.

Why would anyone want an "unstable" operating system? LOL
(I kid, I kid... linuxBBQ darside FTW)

When I feel "unstable" I boot up my vsido install......which is actually pretty stable.

I like #! the way it is. If I want sid, I go with Debian (and that's what I did on one of my PCs).

yea linux bbq darkside is the way to go if you want #! waldorf with sid. I personally dont really dig systemd, though im using a old q6600 cpu now, on my intel i3 1st gen laptop, maybe systemd would be a big difference.

Or you could go with vsido - http://www.vsido.org/

Some common cbiz abbreviations. This will save me time and yet @ same time tell folks what the babble is supposed to mean.

As far as I know there's only a Stable (Waldorf) version at the moment. Maybe Phillip's recent absence means he's hard at work on the upcoming "Janice".

In the #! Animal thread, Philip himself said he has (as yet undisclosed) plans for Animal...
Threads about a Sid-based CrunchBang branch seem to pop up with amazing regularity. I welcome all such discussion, and I seem to recall starting such a thread myself some time ago.

Sid no but for me Testing is the best compromise

I would love an official CrunchBang release based on Sid.

There's always Semplice for that Sid-based Openbox experience

+1 for Semplice.

There are already a lot of sid distros out there, but it would be nice if there was one that was official to #!. Give the devs a break!
U iz not goin to getz an anzer frm me if u tip lik dis

well are the aptosid or siduction repos good to use or just going to sid? Still dont know what they add to sid or what not.
Offline
^ the siduction repos are worth gold. firstly, they have fixes when upstream breaks stuff, they have experimental with newer version numbers for some applications (gimp, inkscape), and in their normal repos they have also apps that are not in debian. and of course their kernels. top stuff there.
