my excuse; If you have a device that hasn't got 3G on and you want to watch stuff offline? Or if the connection is so slow streaming 720p is a joke. yet d/l plays nicely.

I will enlighten you all on one of the main reasons I used Firefox rather than Chromium to begin with: the add-on known as instantfox. It saves so much time jumping around websites.
If you aren't familiar with it, it makes the search bar and the address bar a single entity, and you can search using special keywords. For example, to search for images of kittens, you might type "i kittens" (i being the keyword for images) into the address bar, instead of doing a google search and switching to images. Or if you wanted to find a specific youtube video, you'd type in "y [search term]", wikipedia's keyword is w, etc etc. It saved me a lot of time.
Of course, I use Conkeror now ;P

I think of two alternate ways to do something similiar:
1. Set duckduckgo as Firefox's default search for the address bar (look for keyword.URL in about:config). Then you can use its bang syntax.
2. Use shortmarks.com. You can setup custom keyword searches. Again, just edit keyword.URL.
Also the benefit of these two methods is they work in any browser that lets you change the search engine.

I always use duckduckgo, we gotta support it as much as we can

I always feel Firefox slows down something horribly the more I add to it. So I kinda stick with two:
Adblock Plus and Disconnect.me (which is kinda like Ghostery but seems more solid somehow (<--- very subjective I guess))
