i am new to crunchbang. my wife liked the name, so why not give it a try and make her happy. i was pleasantly surprised. though not pretty (and i think pretty is overrated), it's lightning fast (i really, really like fast). i couldn't believe how quick my ebay page came up.
my wife immediately found a suitable desktop picture and had me point her to the package manager (a keyboard shortcut like super + p would have been perfect for this). shortly thereafter she told me that the drivers for her printer were listed in the package manager. i spent a whole day trying to install ubuntu edgy eft just so i could use the printer with linux, but failed. within 5 minutes, she printed a page. i had to go change undergarments.
also i would like to commend the choice to use super + t as a shortcut for the terminator terminal.

I fully agree. Btw does anybody know, how to set up Xerox Workcentre 3119 on Linux? I did it once on Ubuntu, but it took hours of google'ing and stuff. Maybe somebody has done it somehow?

Part of the beauty of Openbox, CrunchBang's Window Manager, is that you can easily customize keyboard shortcuts by right-clicking in an empty spot of any desktop and selecting Preferences --> Openbox Config --> Edit rc.xml. This forum features many detailed "HowTo" documents to walk you through the process.
