Hey, All --
Forgive me for being wrapped up in work and other stuff -- not the least of which was teaching a Linux class and having a student, watching my presentation, say "What's that?" to CrunchBang, since it was different than the distro he was installing -- but I wanted to point out a couple of event opportunities for CrunchBangers and other FOSS folks can attend.
This month, Northeast Linux Fest is being held in Worcester, Massachusetts, about 40 miles west of Boston (I think -- anyone from that area?). I think it's on the 17th -- St. Patrick's Day -- and if you are in the area and can make it, please do. Here's the link: http://northeastlinuxfest.org/
Meanwhile, on the other end of the country in Bellingham, Washington, Linux Fest Northwest will take place in the last weekend of April. I have already arranged a table for the expo floor, proposed an "Intro to CrunchBang" presentation, scheduled a CrunchBang "Birds of a Feather" event and, since I did all this, I'll be there. If anyone is in the Pacific Northwest and wants to help -- booth volunteers get free admission -- ping me and let's talk.

Does it ever come to Oregon? Bellingham is a little too far away...

No, 2ManyDogs, it's hosted by the LUG up there in Bellingham, I think.
Where in Oregon are you? There's a good chance I'll be speaking about FOSS (and when I do, CrunchBang invariably comes up) in Corvallis at Oregon State University, as well as spending some time at the OSU Open Source Lab. Are you nearby?
Oregon has the big one: OSCON. It's in July or August in Portland (I haven't started thinking about that one yet -- but if you're interested, I can see if we can get a dot.com table).

dammit, no, I'm in northern Oregon (actually southwest Washington), but might be persuaded to go to Corvallis (it's closer than Bellingham )
I could do Portland, but I'm not much of a people person...

When do you think you will be speaking at OSU? I go there so I would be very likely to attend.

cjones -- It would probably be on the 25th or 26th. I haven't nailed down the date or the class yet, but I can let you know when I find out.

erest -- I know Auburn! Great that you'd like to go. I'll put you down on the exhibitor list (for the free pass) if you e-mail me at lcafiero-at-lavabit-dot-com and give me your full name so I can give to the LFNW folks.
