Re: The Official #! Over-the-Hill-CrunchGang Thread

Sunday nights, in our house, was a huge TV night (B&W) . . . Lawrence Welk, Bonanza and Ed Sullivan.  lol

Both Jackie Gleason and Art Carney were good, in the Honeymooners -- my vote goes to the Jackie Gleason Variety Hour.

Re: The Official #! Over-the-Hill-CrunchGang Thread

I was born in the '50s, a month after Sputnik, and grew up in the '60s. I have six years to go before I can join the club, though I remember most of what was listed above.

Icafiero..
Join in but don't rush ahead to your 60's  wink

Frankly, though I remember a lot from the 50's. I really feel that I too grew up in the 60's as I was 10 in 1960.

Thank you, vrkalak -- I don't mind aging so much, but I do mind . . . uh, I forgot. :-)

Bear in mind, kids, that old age and treachery will always win out over youth and skill. Always.

Re: The Official #! Over-the-Hill-CrunchGang Thread

Can you believe that it is 2012 already?

Anyone who was BORN in the 50's - 60's - 70's ...We are the last generation who played in the street. Drank water from the garden hose.  We invented Fast-Food, Blue Jeans and t-shirts. We are the 1st who played video games & the last to record songs off the radio on a cassette tape. We walked over a mile with no worries on being taken ... Learned how to program the VCR before anyone else ... Played from Atari to Nintendo ... We are the generation of Tom and Jerry, LooneyToons & Captain Kangaroo ... We traveled in cars w/out seat belts or air-bags and lived without cell phones. We did not have flat screens, surround-sound, iPods, Facebook, Twitter, computers & the Internet...But nevertheless we had a GREAT time

Re: The Official #! Over-the-Hill-CrunchGang Thread

Yes, add the "baby-boomers" (like me) born in the late 40's to that.

I remember cutting wood for the cook stove.  (that old cast iron stove is still in my fathers kitchen)
And pumping water outside to take inside ... we didn't have indoor water when I was small.
Don't forget the "out house"

And I grew up in the city!!  tongue
