#! Sports

For those who like to bask in the sun or get active, here is a thread about sports.  You can rant about your favorite sport (newfound or not), or other sporty news.

I, for one, like to play ultimate frisbee.  It's an easy pick-up-and-play sport that can get quite competitive.  Nothing is more satisfying than swatting down a frisbee pass and saying "DENIED".   I also think it is relatively safe, since I can't think of any [major] injury that can result from it.

Football not American football is my sport to watch and I like to kick the ball around the house because I am in the house studying most of my day.

Re: #! Sports

Aikido is my thing, and occasionally running when I can be bothered!  I love aikido for the art and form of the movements, and for the way that you blend with your opponents power.  Unfortunately, Philip won't let me come home and practice any new moves I learn on him! lol

^Aikido very interesting. I cannot do martial arts because first I do not have money for lessons and second I might use it for the wrong reasons lol. I just find kicking a soccer ball relaxing.

Re: #! Sports

^ It is if you live in Bolivia.

If its sport that I love doing, then mostly motorsport. Mainly motorcross and karting. I used to be pretty good at karting, actually, had the chance to join a pro team and possibly gain a chance at bigger single-seaters, but life chose another path for me. Also used to do a lot of circuit riding on supersport-class bikes. Gaining a finishers-medal at the Isle of Man TT is still an unfulfilled lifelong dream for me.

Outside that, I hit the swimming pool on an almost-daily basis, and either jog or cycle every other day. Do a couple of triathlons a year, and maybe some of those charity marathon events if someone signs me up and my schedule allow for it. Skydiving and scuba-diving when I get the opportunity (mostly when I travel overseas)

Used to play football (that's real football, yanks!!) when I was younger, though never good at it. Still my favorite sport to watch, though. Also used to represent my secondary school in badminton years ago.

Re: #! Sports

^Wow that is a lot of sports. Besides kicking a football around, I swim. I used to play tennis and badminton, but got lazy because I didn't want to go to a tennis park to play tennis. Tennis and football are fun to watch. Their rules of play didn't really change unlike American throwball which has so many rule changes. I used to like watching American throwball but now it is so boring and players just cannot do anything to each other without getting a fine from the NFL.

Then go play NBA JAM! That's what I play all the time on my PS3.  It's on the 360 and wii and SNES I think.  Nothing is better than having republicans versus democrats lol.
