Re: What do the #! users want for Christmas?

I must admit, I'm one of those who sinks into a deep depression during the holidays.  Too many bad memories from childhood of alcoholic father + succession of alcoholic stepfathers.

That said, all I want for Christmas is to continue to have a job.  And for people w/o jobs to find find one.

Re: What do the #! users want for Christmas?

This will probably be our first Christmas in quite a few years when the kids and grandkids won't be in so I'll be happy with some time with the better half, a few drinks at the "genulman's club" with the guys, some Christmas dinner and a nice nap on the couch! big_smile

Of course a nice, warm, chocolate coated Conky in the stocking that Santy  preconfigured for xmms2 would be nice! big_smile

In my calculus class we can't even use the regular calculator tongue but the graphing calculator I need it for Numeric Methods and Circuits and whatever comes next.

In my calculus class they wouldn't let us use slide rules! big_smile  We had to use natural log tables! lol

The perfect audo media player is MPD + ncmcpp! Or sonata/ario if you like gui... + hotkeys using mpc (M-p = mpc toggle, M-n = mpc next, M-b = prev, M-S-1 =autoplaylist1, etc...)

Re: What do the #! users want for Christmas?

@Icarus_Liquorice - Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. roll  Something about my Mini gives MPD nonfluencing (stuttering, static) problems, no matter what settings I use with it.  I'm convinced it has something to do with the way the Atom's hyperthreading tricks the OS into thinking there are two processors.  But I agree, MPD would be ideal if it weren't for the nonfluencing issue.

Anyway, what I really want for Christmas is a cure for my tinnitus.  Or at least a way to extend the brief periods of remission.

A sudden and exponential increase in my command line skills...a supernatural dose of *nix Wizard-ly-ness, no less, accompanied by a miraculous intuitive grasp of the structure of the Linux filesystem and insight into creatively manipulating it.

Since this is unlikely to happen, I would be happy to have some new black jeans and a new black turtleneck...and that black Debian T shirt I've been eyeing.

And whirled peas.
