networkmanager; add usb_modeswitch and modemmanager

Hi! I've just downloaded BL live iso...amazing, very #! style!
sadly, my usb modem (aka internet key) is not running at all, even creting a new connection with the correct apn. Is it a know issue that will be solved in future, or I'm doing something wrong?
Thank for the help!!

Re: networkmanager; add usb_modeswitch and modemmanager

Why are you not using the inbuilt wireless card?

Try this:

sudo apt-get install usb-modeswitch modemmanager

Then reboot.

Re: networkmanager; add usb_modeswitch and modemmanager

Hi all, I've just joined BL and tested the iso. Wouldn't be better to add to the isos usb_modeswitch and modemmamnager debs ? So you can connect out of the box...

Re: networkmanager; add usb_modeswitch and modemmanager

But if modemmanager is activated by default as a systemd service, on a machine that doesn't use it, it adds a lot to start up times. Would there be a way of including it, but not starting it unless it was required?

What proportion of machines need a usb dongle these days? Should we add what is bloat for the many, for the benefit of a few? Just askin'
