[Solved] Transferring files between and #! and Samsung S5 via USB

Hi..

I know I know..airdroid. but it's unreliable to me, the transfer sometimes fails on large files (1+ G)

I've search the forums, Google and Reddit and haven't found a solution or even a hint of a solution..  neutral

Edit:  What happens is nothing, when I connect the phone to the PC, btw.

Regarding what happens is nothing:
HowTo: Connect to an Android 4 phone

The 1+ GB issue I don't know.

... or even a hint of a solution.....

You are kidding, right? Plenty of hits with google, and there is HowTo on the forum for Android4 phones, which is probably a bit dated now.

Have you enabled MTP in Wireless -> USB Settings?

You may be able to mount it using fuse, with jmtpfs or go-mtpfs

Have a look here

Jesus..Ok, don't kill me, it appears I've used the wrong keywords..

I've queried the forums for "usb transferring" "usb moving" "usb files" in the title with no hits..as for google..pretty  much the same

Relax smile
People are just a bit tense here these days, due to the news. Many people here are working around the clock to get things done, and are maybe a bit on the edge. Take a deep breath and take a look at the links and tips provided smile

Edit: typo  :8

Should I cancel it? I'd like to support the forums, but only while they serve their purpose..corenominal mentions that they'll remain active, but what are forums without the....OS that they support?..

edit: fixed typo

FYI I googled with "Samsung S5 linux"

And a forum search with "connect phone" should bring up the HowTo mentioned as the first hit

Eh.. without? Is debian gone? #! actually is more or less debian. Much of the knowledge and info on this forum applies to many types of distroes that are based on debian. People here are now working hard to try to create a distro that will fill the hole now that #! is not releasing janice (jessie). The purpose of this forum has and will continue to do support on #!, that will also apply to other debian based distros. And I don't believe you have to worry about your donation. The fuzz caused by resent events has drawn attention to the forum. And there are a lot of people that are genuine interested in keeping this knowledge base as it always have been: A great and evolving base of info and knowledge for linux users!!
