First steps with a brand new install, running dwm: [clean] and [busy]
Jessie minimal netinst, dwm, pcmanfm, conky, leafpad, urxvt [and audacious, hidden in the music-tag]. But GTK isn't playing along. Each and everytime I modify a theme in lxappearance, the preview updates, I click apply, but the system is unaffected. So much headache to resolve, still. It's really bothersome to customize all the visual elements. Icons are the worst. Makes one appreciate the work others put in distributions etc. even more.
Edit: manually modified the theme. Somewhat better and more what I expected: [link]. Next stop: Icons.

Debian Xfce with the Waza window manager theme. A simple, functional and, dare I say, nice looking desktop.

@maxim: how do I make fonts drift? (can't find anything like that)
edit: and 'xsessions/login manager' dwm experiment with mint 17, which was for some reason surprisingly simple to make (could never make it work with slim);
edit2: and on real hardware, mint17 + dwm
(problems: video tearing when in windowed mode, ok in fullscreen)

I assumed you misunderstood him and that the font itself is called "Drift" and did a little giggledygoogle on your behalf: debian-art.org. Edit: that was just the first hit. You might just try to find the mentioned source..

^ if it is drift, I'm thinking it's the artwiz version - artwiz fonts.

Rocking Win 8, work compatibility issues, and very little free time to fiddle with Fedora. On the bright side, a bigger screen. I actually likethe system.
Good work! That actually looks rather nice

Menschenkind, PackRat: thanks.
No problem. I'm assuming you have bitmap fonts enabled so you can use the artwiz fonts, but if you or anyone else needs to enable bitmap fonts - follow this guide.
and because of b-rex, I'm giving dwm another spin - with gaplessgrid and bstack patches:

Good contrast, maxim, even I can read your terminal now.

wow... as much as I love the smell of a new install or live session (in all its tactical crispness), I think youve earned a bow on this one, sir. We salute this effort. Outstanding!

Slowly advancing. Figures, I had trouble using just about any icon theme because my machine never learned to read .svg-files.
No idea if I will keep it like this. It's still lacking a decent wallpaper and I'm not sure how much I really like the colour theme.
