Do you use more than one web browser?

I mostly use Firefox - but when I think abt it - I am only using it over smaller/ lightweight browsers because of one or two plugins, namely Adblock and Lastpass

I recently installed Qupzilla and was amazed how much faster it was at loading pages. Unfortunately although it supports plugins very few have been written so far (although it has adblock built in) so I need to find a sort of last pass alt.
I have decided to find a way around this though as the difference is so big. I am sure there will be the odd page that doesn't display as well as Firfox but  I can live with that.

I have tried text based browsers - maybe I havent given them enough of  a test but It seems too strange - a bit like when you first try out a Window tiler when you are used to a stacker.

Re: Do you use more than one web browser?

Not if I can help it  smile

I use Chrome because I've grown to despise Firefox (and by association, iceweasel).  I have iceweasel installed but only use it when Chrome doesn't work, which is almost never.

My work SAP portal requires IE, so I try to only do SAP stuff when I'm at the office on a Windows machine.

Firefox-only. On a shell I stopped using browsers and completely switched to ssh and wget wherever it was necessary. smile

Re: Do you use more than one web browser?

Once in a while I do...why, just last night I had the ocassion to use two different browsers at the same time.

Oh wait!  "...use more than one web browser" is not what you were really asking...was it?  You meant what browser do you use other than Firefox/Iceweasel...right?  The answer to that question for me is usually Chrome.

Re: Do you use more than one web browser?

I occasionally try other browsers (I tried the latest Chromium, yesterday), but I always go back to Iceweasel.

Re: Do you use more than one web browser?

My primary browser is also Firefox. but I roam around quite a bit. At work (Windows), I generally stick to Firefox. At home, when I'm on Crunchbang, I use Iceweasel; when on LMDE I use Chromium only because it makes good use of the title bar when maximized (see What is the use of a title bar).

It has been a long time since I last used a text based browser. Now that you mentioned, it's tempting to try other (light-weight) browsers. The two extensions I use are AdBlock Plus and Disconnect, it shouldn't be difficult...

Re: Do you use more than one web browser?

I am viewing this page now from UZBL  trouble is to login to the forum I had to open Iceweasel (and Lastpass) to get my password!
anyway I am quite liking it so far but doubt I can use only this.
The pages look realy big without any toolbars and crud.

Re: Do you use more than one web browser?

Kind of 2 + 1 + 1 = 4.

I am using Iceweasel with 2 different profiles with different addon stacks: one full blown block-everything one for normal use, a noscript-less, flash- and mozplugger-enabled one to access all those *!"&%$ academic journals and ebooks which are only served through crazy PDF-JavaScript-JS-embedded-in-PDF-based navigation schemes  or flash-based reader. On a similar note, Google Chrome (has the pepper flash plugin)  is only being used for journals/ebook viewers which make the last available flashplugin for iceweasel crash (quite a few!). Finally, elinks helps me when I have my X11 install borked (I am on Sid+Experimental).

The web is not as nice as it was.

Re: Do you use more than one web browser?

Mostly, no. Sometimes, yes. If I want to compare things between Firefox/Iceweasel and Chrome, I'll use two. Otherwise it's Iceweasel for me.

Re: Do you use more than one web browser?

well qupzilla got nuked - didn't render some pages very well - final straw was on the TV guide page the drop down box for choosing channels wouldn' t work.

Opera is my main browser, but I use Iceweasel for some sites. I've also learned to like Dillo; it's incredibly fast!

Iceweasel and Firefox seem to be getting rather heavy these days, so i'm considering trying Opera again.

Re: Do you use more than one web browser?

Firafox and Opera here. I've tried to like Chrome and Chromium, but they just don't do it for me.

FWIW, having a bunch of tabs loaded in Opera is quite memory intensive. Firefox OTOH, seems to be getting more and more like Chrome/Chromium in the fact that they are very CPU intensive when loaded with a lot of tabs.

Same here, but I don't have Firefox installed, I installed it once a year ago and used it until the next Chrome update, them removed it.
