Re: CrunchBang 11 "Waldorf" Released

Dark and discreet like a black ninja, with the sanest sane defaults this side of the moon, #! Waldorf is a thoroughly enjoyable, useable and personable Openbox/Debian experience from start to finish continuation.

Congratulations. Keep up the good work.

Re: CrunchBang 11 "Waldorf" Released

Just wanted to add my thank you, as I've said before #! is the one distro that gets me excited about computing like the early years - before people took things for granted. Downloading 32 bit PAE and will be seeding it after..

And if I am correct - should I then make an sudo apt-get update, to update it to the new stable version?

This will be enough, yes. No need to reinstall, this "stable" thing just means everything is deemed worthy for use in servers that reboot once in two or three years.

Wow - you mean this thing can run 2-3 years without needing a reboot... My God!
Sounds like rock solid to me, then! smile

Thx for the reply I am very grateful.

Re: CrunchBang 11 "Waldorf" Released

I've been installing #! to any and all hardware I own without hesitation since it was an Ubuntu variation.  I use it at home, as well as in the workplace, and enthusiastically recommend it to anyone who will listen (and a few more who won't!).

I've downloaded the new ISOs and am seeding as I write this.

^I did not know!  I was just confused.  That makes sense.  I am relatively new to the #! scene.  Guess I should read up on the history.  Anyone have a good History of Crunchbang book to reccomend?  ]:D

Thank you very very much! I love using #! -- it's by far the best Debian based distro out there. I can't wait to see what #! 12 brings to the table! Thanks again Phil!

Open wiki start page and roll down to I (installation) and R (release notes). (Many pages in the wiki have only historical value.)

Don't know, as I have not installed it yet, but it will be the "Wheezy" version of Thunar.
