new release??

i was expecting a "final" waldorf release with wheezy becoming stable..
is it a realistic assumption or am i getting the dependency from the debian releases "wrong"??
or, is it something that i should be expecting and therefore "worth" waiting for or just go with the january version instead??
in my particular case, i'd like to bless two macs with #! but would give it a week or so if a new release is indeed to be expected soon.. information on the main site is rather scarse, which is cool in a way, but i felt like asking here for information from members and/ or developers with a better understanding of the distro culture who can make an educated guess to help me with this decision..
thank you..
good sunday!!

Re: new release??

Hi wintermute, it is a totally unrealistic assumption to expect #!'s one developer to make a new release within 24 hours! smile
#! development is not "transparent" like other distros; you just wait, and corenominal drops a new release from on high when he's ready. Give him some time. wink

I can't wait to see what the next installment of #! will be.  I am so impressed with Waldorf.

Re: new release??

Didn't #! Waldorf "release" earlier this year? We effectively opened our presents early and now have nothing on Debian's Christmas Day.

Re: new release??

wow what timing!  Just got a new laptop and despite my anticipation, I am not very impressed with the UbuntuGNOME official flavor. Besides, I really miss toying around with OpenBox and Tint2!  I downloaded the Waldorf image last night, but it looks like I'll be waiting juuust a little longer.  will be seeding the new release, and glad to be back with such an awesome community!

Re: new release??

Update: the builds completed just fine, but during testing, I noticed some issues, so I'll need to do another set of builds. It's getting late now, so I'll probably continue tomorrow. Apologies for the delay.

@blamenixon, in case you are not aware, the current images are fine to use. The new builds will just contain updated packages.

Re: new release??

@corenominal:  I'm not sure if you've noticed, but there have been a couple threads where people have been complaining about the disappearance of the Waldorf Faenza icons.  I understand it probably has something to do with the current shift from Testing to Stable, but would you care to elaborate on this?  For example, will the CrunchBang Gnome icon set eventually have a more harmonious grayscale/desaturated appearance?

Re: new release??

Thanks very much, perfect timing with my stupid ramdisk loading hanging issues (see my previous posts). I can't wait. I hope that this update resolves them, but until there's another major apt-get update I can't test.
