[Solved] Can't Set Static IP

I've always used DHCP but over the weekend I had to set a static IP. However, NM kept reverting back to DHCP and editing /etc/network/interfaces did nothing. Is this a known bug or am I just smoking too much crack?

Re: [Solved] Can't Set Static IP

Mind posting

/etc/network/interfaces
sudo cat /var/log/syslog | grep -Ei 'wpa|dhc|netw'

if you are still using that configuration.

PS: limit the posted output to todays entries.

I used the following How-To and it worked just fine.

just follow the instructions listed in the bottom half of the fist post and you are all set.

Although it's the most idiotic thing I've come across in a long time, running as root worked. Thanks.
