You can also 'Shift + insert' to paste in a terminal...

#3 Re: Off Topic / General Chat » Jobs? » 2009-01-16 13:42:10

I play bass in a western swing band and distribute books for a charity called ISKCON...

#6 Re: Feedback & Suggestions » Final Terminal/CLI Applications Menu » 2008-12-16 15:57:43

I'm really getting into this cplay... used to use it years ago and it's all coming back to me...

Also found a nice howto kinda page here...

http://kmandla.wordpress.com/2007/05/01 … ike-a-pro/

Don't forget to install mpg321 and/or splay to get mp3 if you give it a go...

#9 Re: Help & Support (Crunchbang 11 "Waldorf") » New system update script » 2008-12-13 16:21:32

ah yes... cheers... I added an -f to it while I was there...

#10 Re: Help & Support (Crunchbang 11 "Waldorf") » New system update script » 2008-12-13 09:37:59

I wasn't too keen on it firing up when I logged in so I made a menu entry...

<item label="System Update">
    <action name="Execute">
        <execute>
                        terminator --command=system-update
        </execute>
    </action>
</item>

#11 Re: Feedback & Suggestions » Final Terminal/CLI Applications Menu » 2008-12-12 11:56:06

May I suggest cplay as a possibility for audio playback, again it's very simple to use, worth taking a look at (needs madplay for mp3 playback)...

#13 Re: Help & Support (Crunchbang 11 "Waldorf") » New system update script » 2008-12-11 16:30:35

The update command could also be included in Openbox's autostart file at ~/.config/autostart.sh

did you mean  ~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh ?

#14 Re: Feedback & Suggestions » Final Terminal/CLI Applications Menu » 2008-12-10 09:19:34

just IM... it works very well and is real easy to use...

#15 Re: Feedback & Suggestions » Final Terminal/CLI Applications Menu » 2008-12-10 08:39:20

One of my favourite CLI apps is centerim... http://www.centerim.org/index.php/Main_Page

I'll be sticking that in my menu for sure...

Anyway thanks, brilliant, well done maestro

#16 Re: CrunchBang Talk » CrunchBang Online Mini Video Tour (sorry, no sound) » 2008-12-09 21:13:08

#17 Re: Off Topic / General Chat » Coffee and laptops don't mix very well » 2008-12-09 21:08:59

Someone told me about this awesome site yesterday... Was wondering if anyone has seen the video yet... I think it's a brilliant little presentation which really exposed some vital issues we should all be seriously thinking about...

http://www.storyofstuff.com/

What's your opinion?

To my mind if what she's saying is true then we are in for some serious changes in our lives in this western world and very soon... In fact it's all a bit scary... Is it not?

hmm

sudo apt-get install ttf-gentium ttf-dustin ttf-georgewilliams ttf-sjfonts sun-java6-fonts ttf-larabie-deco ttf-larabie-straight ttf-larabie-uncommon

more details here...
