If I remember, you need to install it from the boot menu, (I'm on AntiX just now).

#19 Re: Help & Support (Crunchbang 11 "Waldorf") » Getting DVD ISOs from a disc » 2013-10-16 10:11:26

To grab a copy of a dvd with dd

dd if=/dev/cdrom of=your-disk-image-name.iso bs=1M

This is an image that can be burnt to a dvd, or mounted to access the data on it.

sudo mount -o loop your-disk-image-name.iso /mnt

ls /mnt

should let you see the files within it.

(The link to the Debian article in your post is for creating an iso image from your own files.)

#21 Re: Help & Support (Crunchbang 11 "Waldorf") » Simultaneous PCI and Onboard Graphics preventing boot » 2013-10-16 09:51:52

It could be an IRQ clash, in the old days one could change them on the add in card.
(I'm not very clued up on this sort of thing as I just tend to use OTB.)
With luck some one with knowledge will find this post soon, all the best.

#23 Re: Introductions » Should I use Crunchbang?(Thread just like others) » 2013-10-16 09:36:46

Re using your home 'partition' is fairly easy, however there will be old 'dot' files left in it from your previous system if you just reuse it.
If you don't want that, just create your home as a different user to the one you used on your previous distro. (All the other files will remain under the previous user name, just move them into your new user name's directory, then you can delete the old user from the system.

If you want that, I'm sure we have someone on here that could guide you.
Open a new topic & ask.
