Rocking Win 8, work compatibility issues, and very little free time to fiddle with Fedora. On the bright side, a bigger screen. I actually likethe system.

New computer, I had to install Fedora due to forgetting how to partition the system from the command line with Arch.

It's Google's KitKat. This is a nexus phone, so no need for alternative roms really.

I'm curious; did you ever consider a Moto G? At least, if it is out in your country.

I have had mine for about three weeks now and I'm in love with it!

Not even for a second. It was the nexus 5 our the note 2. I decided to go with the nexus because I didn't want to fiddle with flashing roms andb stuff.

Just to let everybody know, my Nexus 5 came in today.

It's a political show and in Croatian, so you won't understand a thing, but you can see what I look like in real time:

Well, the old gang is still here. Nice to see all you guys. I'm doing four jobs at the moment, one of which being my own TV show, so time is pretty scarce. I still run Arch and update it about once a month, holding my fingers for the whole thing not to go to crap.

Dunno, most of you guys probably don't even know me. I hang out here, but haven't been active for a while. Hence the delay. I'm all good, just super busy, sorry to not drop by more frequently. I just wanted to wish all you guys all the best for the new year.

Very nice combo, brother.
Btw, is it just me or has Gnome stopped crashing for others as well?

#16 Re: Off Topic / General Chat » What do you like about your Linux setup? » 2013-11-16 11:51:01

I just love it when I do updates and then have to hold my breath on whether or not the machine will boot.

OEMs sometimes just give you the wrong info. Meaning, they put drivers for Realtek cards, when the machines really use Atheros ones and similar.

We need the output of the command

lspci -knn

from #! of course.

#18 Re: Off Topic / General Chat » There Is a Way to Have a Stable System and Have Up-to-Date Apps » 2013-11-13 10:59:31

Any rolling distro really. Even Fedora. I mean, they're as stable as a distribution of a system designed for use in servers but used by freaks like us who like to turn on the nastiest porn without worrying about viruses can be.

Up to date apps are a non issue really. All I need is .docx compatibility, Wine ensures that with MSO 2010, thank you, goodbye, see you when the next update forces me into a two hour long tty session and I feel the need to went.

#21 Re: CrunchBang Talk » Express your gratitude » 2013-11-11 23:38:05

#! is your typical gateway into hardcore minimalism, a gateway drug so to speak, but attracting cool people only. I've really learned a lot by following The Way. Not that I use any of it anymore (well, I can fix any computer problem I find, so there's that), but you still see me hanging around the forum and middling into people's affairs. .

#22 Re: Off Topic / General Chat » Nexus 5 » 2013-11-06 09:44:27

Huh, it seems people are selling 5s bought in the blessed countries for something like 420 bucks right here. A month or two until the price drops even further, and el koraco is gonna have him self a very merry Christmas.

or is smxi just outdated?

smxi is fine, but the instructions in this thread are two years old. I haven't used any of this stuff for two years, and I spend about twenty minutes on the computer daily in the past six months, so any credit goes to the smxi guys, not me. I mean, if it worked, leave it to hell alone!

#24 Re: Off Topic / General Chat » Nexus 5 » 2013-11-05 23:04:31

I don't care what you guys say, I'm buying it.

Thank the smxi guys, this is hardly a guide to follow anymore, it's been more than two years since I've had AMDreck on my system.
