Regarding the "System Info" in the right corner, it is a program called Conky, and yes, it is included by default in CrunchBang Linux :) Having said that, it is quite easy to install on Ubuntu, just enter the following terminal command:
sudo apt-get install conkyOnce it is intalled, it can be run by entering the command:
conky &There is a fairly good Conky howto on the Ubuntu Forums, see:

Webcam support in Linux is actually quite good. The application in the screenshot is Cheese.
