@mike: Hi :) You could always download CrunchBang Linux, the wallpaper is included. Failing that, I have created a new wiki page where you can grab the image, see: CrunchBang Linux default wallpaper :D

Haha, thanks mate! … well im new to linux so i guess ubuntu is good enough for me, at this moment.
What about the "System Info" in the right corner … is that application included in CrunchBang aswell? ;)
Philip wrote,
@mike: No problem, and yes, Ubuntu is a great OS :)
Regarding the "System Info" in the right corner, it is a program called Conky, and yes, it is included by default in CrunchBang Linux :) Having said that, it is quite easy to install on Ubuntu, just enter the following terminal command:
sudo apt-get install conky
Once it is intalled, it can be run by entering the command:

Hi, I now have conky installed on etch thanks to you. Could you please tell me more about the webcam? That is a very clean image. I never imagined linux could do that!
Philip wrote,
@Nahshon: The webcam is built-in to my laptop, I think it is an Orbicam.

Webcam support in Linux is actually quite good. The application in the screenshot is Cheese.

do you know of any support for webcam within an IM? pidgin has it greyed out, and though kopete can use my webcam in the settings for some reason the share webcam button never shows up for me, i have googled this and others have had the same problem

@Philip - Webcam support in Linux is actually quite good? what are you saying? i use Linux from 11 years, i'm using now Ubuntu 9.10, i have 2 webcams, and never had any of them working on Linux…

How do you use Cheese with Pidgin? i cant find anywhere about how to do it. I have cheese installed on my system, its working.
Philip wrote,
@Adam, I am not sure, but I think you may have misinterpreted the screenshot. For clarity, the two applications are not connected at all, it is just coincidence that I happened to choose these two applications to take a screenshot of.
