I thought this might be handy (or maybe not) as a reference point for a users current config files. You could refer to your post here if needed in threads. Use the new Pastebin

Clever idea, nice one omns! The pastebin makes for an excellent repository for storing dotfiles/config files. The handy download link works well for this purpose. I guess anyone wishing to do this just needs to keep a reference of the URLs, as you have. Thanks!

Is it also possible to put a screenschot showing the result of the script?

Hi guys, the linked pastebins are empty when I take a look. Do they "expire" after a while?

We are looking in to that at the moment. I hope that they are not gone.

hmm, I chose the forever option when putting them there.... curious. No one was really interested in this thread idea but it does have implications for lots of other threads.

Indeed. Somebody else mentioned this before, they also said that they selected the forever option. I will look into this ASAP, like right now.

I have now made some modifications to the pastebin and all pastes should now last forever. I believe this has something to do with the pastebin's garbage collection function, although I am not entirely sure why old posts marked with an expiry of "forever" should have been deleted, logically it makes no sense. Anyhow, I have disabled the function and removed the option to choose how long pastes should exist. I am a big believer in "Cool URIs don't change" and if someone posts a link to a paste within a forum post, that paste should be available.
My apologies for any missing pastes. I will monitor the pastebin over the coming days/weeks to confirm this is fixed.
