I can ping (with a response) and open both sites.
Could it be that they are not accepting requests from outside the US?
Things have been kind of weird in the world lately. sad
I just run basic current local weather and a 5 day forecast in my configs.
Sorry I couldn't help out more.

That's a very good possibility that they are refusing requests from outside the US.

No only one 500GB HDD and a 250GB external for backups and it's only 'maybe' 'close to' a couple of thousand conkys.

Re: Wun Weather Script for Conky (Lua)

I just today download and start to use this config. I'm using the iweather_falldown template and my main problem is that the units are in Fahrenheit for my city and not in Celsius. In weather underground site are displayed correct as Celsius:
http://www.wunderground.com/personal-we … 12#history
so I suppose the script need some configuration. How can I change them?

EDIT:
Nevermind, I found it..

Re: Wun Weather Script for Conky (Lua)

Been a LONG time  ... I know the USO site doesn't work anymore but ..

Where did you download from?
Can you show:

  • the conky

  • the iweather_falldown template

  • the wun.lua, and the

  • wun_config.lua

you are using.

^^
in iweather_falldown template
change all the lines that have temp_imperial to temp_metric
that should do it.

Re: Wun Weather Script for Conky (Lua)

I have another problem, which is very annoying especially on edit the template. If I reload conky after a change on rc file, then button actions don't work until I logout and relogin.  Any idea what is the problem, and a possible fix?

Sector11 is better with the stop/start scripts than I am.
Is the Fahrenheit/Celsius issue resolved?

My bad, I guess.
I didn't reread an old post.

Re: Wun Weather Script for Conky (Lua)

@ dancaer69

For the past year or so I have been using a line at the top of all my conkys similar to this:

# pkill -xf "conky -q -c /path/to/the/conky" &

For example my test.conky:

# pkill -xf "conky -q -c /media/5/conky/test.conky" &

Now as long as that conky was started with the exact command in the quotes:

conky -q -c /media/5/conky/test.conky

running:

pkill -xf "conky -q -c /media/5/conky/test.conky" &

will kill that conky and only that conky.

So when I want to edit a conky I grab that line, less the #, and pop it in a terminal and run it

pkill -xf "conky -q -c /media/5/conky/test.conky" &

hit enter and up arrow and edit the line

conky -q -c /media/5/conky/test.conky &

getting rid of the first part then the " at the end - hit enter and the conky starts ...

I use the terminal in Medit and if the conky does not restart correctly I use the up arrow (x2) to find the "pkill" line run that and another up arrow to the start the conky line and run it again - fast - painless and bothers no other conky.

That should work as you are "killing the process".  Let me know.

There are a few types of Start|StopConky scripts:

Type 1
- run it: 'killall conky' and start conky(s)

Type 2
- if a conky is running 'killall conky'
- run again it will start conky(s) (or use in autostart to start at boot)

Let me know

Re: Wun Weather Script for Conky (Lua)

Nice trick, thanks.
For now I cannot test if works though, because I tried some paths/names changes and seems that I haven't this problem any more. Seems that the change of conky title made the difference. After that change and a logout/login the template started to work as expected.
Will see..
