Take all you can eat, but no more.  wink Using a picker reduces time spent in the woods by 70 % and increases time used for cleaning the haul by 30 %.  More time, more booty.

Re: The Official #! Over-the-Hill-CrunchGang Thread

A true gentleman ... I shall bring my own fresh cream ... and clean up after.  If there's any cream left over I shall leave it in the fridge. big_smile

I remember picking wild blueberries and man I tell you those suckers had more thorns than a rose bush. That picker would have saved a pint of blood some hurting!  yikes  OK I exaggerated a bit on the blood loss but you get the picture.  Nothing better than fresh berries - however in winter, fresh frozen are a must!

Oh hell, I don't know,  ops What ever they were, they were wild and there were a LOT of bushes.

It was a hundred years ago in another country and ... but they were berries, not raspberries, those I know, they are my favourite of all berries!  wink

The native berry season is over here. cry

If you didn't freeze them, you can still buy imported ones, but it ain't the same.  hmm

Re: The Official #! Over-the-Hill-CrunchGang Thread

Hmmmm...as some of us slowly creep up to the big 7-0, or 7.0 decades, how many ...ah..."seniors" are beginning look favorably on large-print books? My wife and I have similar tastes in light reading and borrow most of our books from the local library. My wife figured out that it's often easier to find a current or recent bestseller in the large-print edition instead of the regular editions. The large-print editions usually are in 18-point type. The first time I read one, I exclaimed to my wife, "Hey, I can read this without my bi-focals!"  lol  lol  lol

I've gradually softened my attitude against e-book readres and tablets, just to be able to adjust font size.  Or perhaps I should  make a book rack and purchase a magnifying desk lamp?

Re: The Official #! Over-the-Hill-CrunchGang Thread

I really haven't hit that stage yet, But I see it coming, I have a few paperbacks that have 'smallish' print compared to other paperbacks.  I can read them, but I get tired very fast.

Doctor told my MIL that she didn't need new glasses but to read with more light.  She put a lamp with a low energy "while|cold light" (not the yellow tinge) lamp in it - no shade - and can read just fine.

^ the two 'store-boughts' I have don't come out at night - if fact not during the day either.  lol

So if someone asks you if Sector11 has his head screwed in place just ell them, "No but a couple of molars are!"

I think I'm going to need a couple more in the near future as well.  sad

^I've got a couple of those "screwed-in" molars, upper and lower, too. So far, the rest have held up well to the wear and tear of aging. I tend to grind my teeth--especially when I hear politicians speak and make promises....  mad  sad
