Re: May 2014 Screenshot Thread

@GekkoP

Nice one. Why ahwm? Somebody at Arch take over that window manager?

More fluxbox; don't really change much lately:

Don't know about ahwm being taken over at Arch. I just like trying different WMs and see the differences on my setups. smile

Re: May 2014 Screenshot Thread

Nice setup PackRat!

My question: out of curiosity how do you compare with OpenBox the Fluxbox or other window manager, really never tried any other WM except Openbox, i find it lightweight the default of #!

Re: May 2014 Screenshot Thread

^ Fluxbox and openbox are both derived from blackbox so they are very similar to use. Different syntax for the configuration files - fluxbox is plain text. Main reason I use fluxbox is that it supports tabbed windows - which I really like and prefer to tiling, and fluxbox has it's own taskbar, system tray, and clock so I don't have to mess with tint2 or some other panel if I want to use one. Openbox typically uses less resources.

back on topic, the other tabbed window manager I like to use - i3

Re: May 2014 Screenshot Thread

Temporarily switched back to Icewm. Even have desktop icons. That probably won't last long.

Well, if you guys would drop the conkys, and all those desktop icons maybe we could see the wall papers. lol
