Tango Color Scheme For Terminal

While I certainly appreciate the inclusion of Terminator, I'm personally not a fan of the default colors that the terminal uses -- they're too dark, and contrast poorly against the black background of the terminal.

The paler Tango colors, however, contrast very well against the black as they're paler and lower-contrast -- I got used to these in Mint, and found it very pleasant and usable.

Agreed, the default colour scheme could be better. I will look into it. Thanks smile

Re: Tango Color Scheme For Terminal

I have now managed to get the Tango colours working with Terminator. It was just a case of finding the correct palette. It can be changed by editing the palette variable in ~/.config/terminator/config. Here are the contents of my config file:

scrollbar_position=disabled
background_color=#000000
foreground_color=#ffffff
font=Mono 9
palette=#2E2E34343636:#CCCC00000000:#4E4E9A9A0606:#C4C4A0A00000:#34346565A4A4:#757550507B7B:#060698209A9A:#D3D3D7D7CFCF:#555557575353:#EFEF29292929:#8A8AE2E23434:#FCFCE9E94F4F:#72729F9FCFCF:#ADAD7F7FA8A8:#3434E2E2E2E2:#EEEEEEEEECEC

Hope this helps smile

I agree. It is a lot less harsh on the eyes, a definite improvement.

Brilliant, corenominal.  I'm going to change my terminator config right now.

Also, I love how dedicated and involved you are in this project.  It's nice to be using a distro with such a new and enthusiastic community.

Re: Tango Color Scheme For Terminal

Just modded the palette variable as per your config, and it looks awesome.  Definitely a step in the right direction.  Thanks, corenominal.
