Re: Wun Weather Script for Conky (Lua)

here is the YAD forms based gui.lua template
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/190 … lua.tar.gz

also generates a quick_reference text file
which matches item number to description

Re: Wun Weather Script for Conky (Lua)

Did I over look something?

Load and Save blink red at me.

I edited my conky:

####################################################
# Lua Settings - load and activate weather script
####################################################
lua_load /media/5/wun/wun.lua
lua_draw_hook_post weather
####################################################
# Lua Settings - load weather template
####################################################
### GUI ### GUI ### GUI ### GUI ### GUI ### GUI ### GUI ### GUI ###
#lua_load /media/5/wun/templates/gui.lua
lua_load /media/5/wun/templates/gui2.lua
minimum_size 450 600
maximum_width 450
### GUI ### GUI ### GUI ### GUI ### GUI ### GUI ### GUI ### GUI ###

and I edited: /media/5/wun/templates/gui2.lua

-- folder default
-- default_path="/home/mcdowall/Desktop/testfolder/"
default_path="/media/5/wun/gui-test/"

==================
Also two things.

One:  The opening box 'should' (opinion) be the same width as the second box

Two: Shadow text isn't working for me.

@ mrpeachy

Two instances of zenity in the latest script on lines 250 & 342

Doesn't fix the no shadow problem though.   sad

Re: Wun Weather Script for Conky (Lua)

^thanks for the feedback Sector11!  very valuable

i changed the way the file saves and loads so it wont load a saved setup from the previous version im afraid
the problem was the separators i was using were too "weak" in the first one (i was using , and - as delimiters)
it occurred to me that these symbols could easy be used in the text entry box in which case the script would break

so i changed the separators to a 2 character combination of symbols which should be very unlikely to be typed
this wont change again

you can load up a previous saved config like so

go to line 345 50 350 which look like this

	local data=data:split("&&")
		for i=1,#data-1 do
		local len=string.len(data[i])
		local cut=string.find(data[i],"##")
		local index=string.sub(data[i],1,cut-1)
		local value=string.sub(data[i],cut+2,len)

change && to , on line 345
change ## to - on line 348 and
change 2 to 1 on line 350

so it looks like this:

	local data=data:split(",")
		for i=1,#data-1 do
		local len=string.len(data[i])
		local cut=string.find(data[i],"-")
		local index=string.sub(data[i],1,cut-1)
		local value=string.sub(data[i],cut+1,len)

EDIT - ALSO an OOOPS the save and load dialogs are still using zenity ops ops

change lines 341 and 349

load the template back in then change those lines back and resave the template

The size of the dialog boxes is a good idea and something i will do
i think setting width and height is pretty easy

You're welcome ... remember I'm the break anything guy.

When I saw the zenity entries I mentioned I did a find/replace and got them all ... big_smile

I still see traces with "zen" though which is cool

local zen=exe('a=$(yad --ti . . .

I have yet to have time to sit down and do a complete template.  Just testing a few outputs so far.

Maybe sometime over the long weekend ... which stars today here but doesn't include Monday I'll get a crack at it.

Very Nice! smile
