I've got a two part question.
1. I'm sure I'm missing something simple here, but how can I get programs to maximize over tint2 (automatically, not through a hot key), or is there a tray that allows programs to maximize over them? I've tried trayer with no success. All I need is a system tray really, don't need task management.
Or...
2. The only reason I need a system tray at all is for nm-applet. I don't necessarily like nm-applet, but unless I can find a cli wifi manager (or get my wifi working from the cli following this so I can make my own manager) I'll be stuck with nm-applet. Does anyone know of a cli network manager?
Thanks,
josh
Edit: Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum, I guess I'm hoping it's a simple OB config.

For #1, add something similar to this replacing Firefox-3.5 with whatever program you would like full screen in your rc.xml
<application class="Firefox-3.5" role="browser">
<decor>no</decor>
<maximized>yes</maximized>
<fullscreen>yes</fullscreen>
</application><decor>no</decor> - enable or disable window decorations
<maximized>yes</maximized> - 'Horizontal', 'Vertical' or boolean (yes/no)
<fullscreen>yes</fullscreen> - make the window in fullscreen mode when it appears
This should cover your tray and remove the bar at the top of your windows as well, to use all your screen space.
As for #2, I don't have an answer for you there, as I currently use the nm-applet.

You could try stalonetray, since you don't really need a tray for anything other than nm-applet. As far as I know you would end up having to configure wpa_supplicant manually to skip using nm-applet.

For 2 you could install wicd instead of Network Manager. If you use the wicd repository you can get the latest version which comes with wicd-curses, a (very good) cli tool for managing connections. I use it with tilda on my arch setup.

Thanks for the replies. I'll give stalonetray a try.
