I have updated the 9.04.xx repositories with the latest tint2 package, version 1.7.1 ~ Subversion revision 167.
The updated version of tint2 contains a number of fixes. It also has a new feature for setting the background of the active taskbar.

thank corenominal !
new config options are
taskbar_active_background_id = 3
task_icon_hsb = 0 0 0
task_active_icon_hsb = 0 0 0
task_icon_hsb is to change icon's hue/saturation/brigthness
it can give grey icons (task_icon_hsb = 0 -65 -25)
but you can experiment segfault of tint2 if you play with those parameters
changed in config
wm_menu = 1 allow openbox menu everywhere in the panel or taskbar (outside a task)
new mouse action on task : desktop_left/desktop_right

r168 fixed segfault...

My tint2 crashed and disappeared when i was launching firefox.
Needed to re-launch it manually.

@ kenwong :
- are you on a 64bit system ?
- do you play with task_icon_hsb or task_active_icon_hsb config ?

One question: Is the battery stuff enabled? I recompile it every time a new version is released, because in #! and Ubuntu the battery display doesn't work.

@ Awebb
run tint2 in the command line with battery enabled in the config file.
if you get "tint2 is build without battery support" that's it.

@ kenwong
no problem to load firefox here. your config is clean.
do you have some plug-in in firefox related to taskbar or systray ?
is your problem specific to new version of tint2 ?

There is no firefox plug-in related to taskbar or systray.
As far as i can recall, that was my first and the only incidence. It didn't occur before i updated it to r.167.
Just updated to r.168. So far so good.

Thanks for the tip, but as I mentioned, I compiled tint2 from source, since it didn't work out of the box in the past... could somebody please be so kind and test it for me and post the result?
