Step by step guide, waldorf to testing or "janice"

Please I want to swim with sharks  smile

Can somebody point me to any sort of step by step guide to convert a classic waldorf install to a testing or "janice" one please?

Thanksssss

Re: Step by step guide, waldorf to testing or "janice"

second hit in a forum search on "upgrade to testing" http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=29728

I would also suggest commenting out the Waldorf repo, but you might be OK without doing that.

THANKS!!!

What is the risk of NOT commenting out the waldorf repo?

Random downgrades and other conflicts between testing/sid and the waldorf repo. The packages in the waldorf repo are meant to run with stable. Some people get away with using it with testing/sid, but IMO it's asking for trouble.

You know sharks bite, right? (-;

(edit) Yes, most of the problems are caused by waldorf having a 1001 pin. You can try changing this, but I don't think it's worth it.

Re: Step by step guide, waldorf to testing or "janice"

because waldorf repo has higher priority but older packages. so some packages would be kept and not upgraded

OK, guys you sold it. Will comment out waldorf.

I guess there will be a point when I should add janice repos?
