Hi from Scotland

Better get the introduction out of the way. 56 year old truck driver from Scotland. Not new to Linux , but sparing you the experience and history of previous distros. (can't understand why people find it necessary to give you their distro history. Honestly! Does it really matter}?
Hats off to Crunchbang though. Minimalist and efficient. What more do you need? And the forum is really helpful (and, yes, friendly}

Nice to see everything going smoothly again after the recent attack, but did you all need to be such drama queens . . . (coups, conspiracies . . . oh seriously!)

Anyway . . . Hello and put up with my grumpiness.

Welcome to CrunchBang, Grumpy, and hope you enjoy the distro (incidentally, drama queens, coups and conspiracies are not even remotely close to part of the CrunchBang experience).

Re: Hi from Scotland

Incidentally Grumpy, Icafiero is merely being delightfully over-modest in regards to the alleged nonexistence of coups, drama queens, and conspiracy theories. big_smile
After all, logic dictates that surely you know the validity of this when it comes to the very introduction you made making note of such accordingly.

Hello Grumpy and welcome to the forum!

Now, now young lady. I of all individuals am never above correction.
However, in this case, if you were to take Larry, along with yourself, and stroll back up to Post #6, and reread it in the context of the humor that it was given, you'd then note no literal correction was required due to the humorous context it was clearly typed within.
Perhaps I should have used one of the emoticons as further evidence to that very conclusion to avoid the confusion.
Which in this case appears to be more of a byproduct of misunderstanding versus an actual motivation to be confusing as is so often the case with myself at other times.  lol

Re: Hi from Scotland

Welcome from Japan :-)

I think you'll like it here, just a hunch though.

I've seen a dose of drama drip through in the past few years since I've browsed these forums... though they tend to drip on out the bottom.  We're stickier for the content-thick, encouraging, motivating support type stuff, and that doesn't drip.  It fills like marshmellows in a microwave.

Exactly.
And by no means should the occasional spout of drama be inferred and/or implied within this Community as an always, ongoing issue when quite to the contrary such is infrequent and random at best to set the record straight in all seriousness.
Many Members in this Community have been here far longer than I and the Author of this thread and certainly know the Community far better. As such, let the humor in reply to the Author's (infer Grumpy) opening statement be known for what it is; a humorous reply to the Author's aforementioned opening statement to avoid this very kind of misunderstanding.

Meanwhile, I know not everything.
Yet what I know is everything I need know.

Sincerely: Josephus Duncan Constantinus.

Re: Hi from Scotland

Enough is enough!
The drama queen reference was a (misjudged) attempt at humour. Ok?

Been using #! for a while and can't fault it.  The reactions during the attack did get a bit out of order. But it's over and everything's fine now.

I'm now going to pour myself a large whisky and relax.

Then surely an attempt at humor cannot hold one as at fault for that very attempt when the one attempting the humor was not in the act of misjudging. big_smile
Dear Reader, to whom it may concern:
At this point you too should sit back, and have a good laugh.
The point has been made well enough after key words have been transcribed to that end result.

That depends upon what language you are attempting to understand while misunderstanding the English you forgot to understand.  devil
And don't even get me started on one of my frequent Babble Syndrome Sessions in regards to how one understood a comment well enough to ask a question. tongue
