My name is Nick. I have been using linux for 7-8 years, but only recently tried crunchbang.
I was looking for a shortcut to arch linux, so I tried Archbang, with the intention of putting gnome3 on it. I decided I like openbox well enough to switch permanently to it, but was not wild about arch.
I had previously loved Debian, so naturally Crunchbang was the next step. I think this distro will be (relatively) permanent.
I was a member of Ubuntuforums, until their horrible hack-attack. I am sad to see crunchbang repo's under attack.
What is wrong with people!??
Anyway, I'm happy to be here, and hope to contribute any meager insight I might have to offer.
welcome to #!
i was thinking about giving archbang a whirl this weekend. i also had no arch exp so i though it would be a nice shortcut as well.
At the risk of sounding like an Arch-er....I don't think there is a shortcut. Arch is supposed to be a painful learning experience. Great, Frustrating, Fun!!
That being said, Archbang is very good. Good luck to you.
