In transition...

Hi everyone,

I´ve just joined the forum as I started moving across from Fedora to #! last weekend. At the moment I have one machine transferred over and am waiting to have finished configuring that one before moving across my main machine.

I´ve been using Linux now for around 10 years. Started out with Mandrake and Knoppix. I have used Debian before as well as the early Ubuntu´s and most recently Fedora. I try not too hop distro too often but have wanted to experience some different things about Linux.

This time around my Fedora installations ran out of support and I wanted something more stable and consistent over a longer period. My choice came down to Debian or Slackware. Iḿ not sure Iḿ ready for Slackware yet so returned to Debian. I´ve long been a fan of the #! interface and so when Waldorf was released the timing just seemed right.

I have already found some really useful and helpful posts on the forum, so thanks for tips guys. Hopefully I can be helpful too!

All the best,

Cloud

Re: In transition...

Welcome to the forum, Cloud. Mandrake was and Knoppix still is a fine distribution. For the reasons you mentioned I'm sure you will be very happy with your choice here.
