[SOLVED] Wireless not working Acer Aspire One

Having gotten the resolution working, I'm now trying to get the wireless working on my new Acer Aspire One 722 netbook. Output of  lspci -v (last section) is

07:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. Device 0032 (rev 01)
Subsystem: Foxconn International, Inc. Device e047
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 11
    Memory at 90100000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=512K]
Expansion ROM at 7f000000 [disabled] [size=64K]
Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 2
    Capabilities: [50] MSI: Enable- Count=1/4 Maskable+ 64bit+
Capabilities: [70] Express Endpoint, MSI 00
    Capabilities: [100] Advanced Error Reporting
    Capabilities: [140] Virtual Channel
Capabilities: [160] Device Serial Number 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Also, the light for the wireless doesn't light up, even when I try and use the hotkey combination (Fn+F4) to activate it. Is it just a softblock keeping it from working? If so, how to get around it?

Thanks!

Post

uname -a
lspci -knn | grep -i net -A4

Use

sudo rfkill list

to see blocks. Install the 'rfkill' package if it is not installed already.
And

man rfkill

for how to unblock.

Re: [SOLVED] Wireless not working Acer Aspire One

Enable the backports repo and install the kernel and firmware-atheros from that repo:
To enable backports: see http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/post/142270/#p142270

To install the kernel and firmware:

sudo apt-get install -t squeeze-backports linux-image-3.2.0-0.bpo.2-amd64
sudo apt-get install -t squeeze-backports firmware-atheros

Reboot into the new kernel, and your wireless should work, if set up correctly.

Re: [SOLVED] Wireless not working Acer Aspire One

Hi! I just installed the new #! Waldorf on my Acer Aspire AO722 to give it a try. Everything is working fine except my laptop is not detecting wifi. I tried the above solution but it's not helping. Any recomendations? Thanks in advance.
