Power Management or something else

hi

i have installed crunchbang on an old sony notebook (pcg-grt816e). it is the best choice, cause the graphic card is supported. in other linux distribution i had massive problems. thx for the great work.

i have now another problem:

while the linux is booting (permanently), while using other programs or terminals i need to press all x-seconds or sometimes permanently the space bar or another key, to keep them running.

if i don't do that the window or boot process is frozen until i begin to press a key.

is this an energy managent feature?  ;-)

how can i solve this problem?

dear, till

p.s.: sorry for my bad english

Re: Power Management or something else

Never heard of that.
Do you have the same problem when you switch to a virtual console with Ctrl+Alt+F2, login, and run for example

apt-cache policy xserver-xorg

Post output of following commands from a terminal window

dmesg
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log

PS: The output is long. Post it between 'code' tags please.

Re: Power Management or something else

Hey

Thx. It seems that I solved the problem with the boot-parameter "noapic"!
