Normally I'm a debian testing guy, but with #!, I'm not sure I'm feeling the urge to upgrade anytime soon.

Great stuff.

Running testing/unstable? Discover which packages installed on your system need help to be included in Jessie:
# apt-get install how-can-i-help
# how-can-i-help --old

Same here, I'm thoroughly happy with #! Waldorf as is, so I think I'll hang around with "stable" for a while!

The trouble with having an open mind . . . .

Re: Debian 7 "Wheezy" Announced Stable

So does this mean statler is redundant?

statler based on debian squeeze. squeeze is now oldstable and would be supported for one year after wheezy released. you must switch from statler to waldorf or perhaps another #!-release (jessie-based) in the next year.

Beer party NOW! smile

Dried frog pills
As their name suggests, these are pills made chiefly from frogs, specifically the extremely poisonous ones that live in the vivarium at Unseen University and handled by the first-year students, so that if they kill one of them, not too much education has been wasted.

I use them daily! tongue

Re: Debian 7 "Wheezy" Announced Stable

No switch required here; I changed my sources.list from wheezy to testing about ten minutes after I installed.  I'll just continue with testing   smile

Re: Debian 7 "Wheezy" Announced Stable

Why was it set to Wheezy in the first place?

^ Agreed
I have Waldorf and a Stock Debian Wheezy installed.
I will probably wait until Summer before I Trade in the Stock Debian Wheezy for Jessie.

Re: Debian 7 "Wheezy" Announced Stable

I will be using Waldorf as much as my wifi NIC will allow and triple-booting with Statler (when Wheezy/Waldorf fails on my NIC) and a fresh install of #!Animal (my unofficial codename for #! + Sid).

Re: Debian 7 "Wheezy" Announced Stable

Woot woot...

Debian Wheezy installed to a virtualbox guest on my mac OSX, and I just got samba sharing from guest to host working, so I can now use my 1TB ext4 external partition for my video editing files!!! YES!

I like this new Debian thing already.
