Another quick, short review:

[I think he means Openbox, not OpenDesktop, but never mind]

Re: CrunchBang reviews and mentions

I mean, /me know so little about nix that i wouldn't even bother to write a meaningful review, but this people seems to be just experts for everything. I think one should start writing reviews about #! reviews. What i have learned today: 2nd boot is faster that first by n seconds.

Re: CrunchBang reviews and mentions

Don't worry about being an expert, brontosaurusrex -- you have an opinion and you have experience with #! (or even Linux for that matter). If you want to write a review (or anything else), just do it -- even if it's a review of #! reviews (or, as I did once, a list of my top 10 "Top 10 Linux Lists")

Re: CrunchBang reviews and mentions

lcafiero: What i had in mind is : "Humility (adjectival form: humble) is the quality of being modest and respectful." But I guess that would oppose free speech?

Re: CrunchBang reviews and mentions

brontosaurusrex: Not exactly (on humility being the opposite of free speech), but that would be a long discussion for another time. But if you have something to say, you should say it.

Waldorf reviews, I guess, will commence now. Here's one:

http://news.softpedia.com/news/CrunchBa … 1335.shtml

[Interestingly, the review points out that #! is "designed specially for low-end machines" -- argh! -- so I commented, graciously I think, that it's for all machines.]

Re: CrunchBang reviews and mentions

UPDATE: One of our readers has pointed out that CrunchBang 11 will work very well on newer systems. Don't be afraid to give it a spin, even if you have a powerful machine.

cool

it's funny that the screenshot they used in the review is one of crunchbang 9.04 big_smile - four years old. did they even try the distros?

Good question.  I really didn't read the post in depth.  I saw CrunchBang mentioned and quickly came to the forums to post the mention.  I did read through the comments though.
