Hi!
I have a quick and simple question:
How do I stop the screen from blacking out every 10 minutes?
I tried to disable it via the power-management-gui, the screensaver-gui, I commented out xfce4-power-manager on autostart - but the screen still blacks out after 10 minutes of inactivity.
So I'd be glad if someone knew the trick to get that annoying feature kicked in the butt - it is driving me craaazy...!

Here's what worked for me:
xscreensaver set to "screensaver disabled"; xscreensaver run via autostart script
xfce4-power-manager timeouts all set to "never"; xfce4-power-manager run via autostart script
Without those two running in the background, I think there's some lower-level process that automatically blanks the screen after 10 minutes idle.

while ( ! ( succeed = try() ) );

Thanks, pvsage.
I was just about to try that combo, too.
I will give it a go and report back.

Update:
Thanks, pvsage!
It does the job.

good you've got it fixed,
for info; if you don't want/need powerman etc, the command is xset otherwise as pvsage observed the ten min blank is set into the kernel, even running a very bare system (noX) it still kicks in after 10 mins.

Thanks, wuxmedia. Good to know.
