Broadcom 802.11 Wireless Driver Installation [Solved]

Good day, all.

I'm a new Crunchbang user, just switched from Ubuntu 12.04, and I'm having an issue with my wireless driver. I'm still learning here, so I'm not quite sure how to go about installing the driver. I went to Broadcom's site and downloaded the wireless driver I needed (64 bit, downloaded from another computer), threw it on a flashdrive and put the files onto the computer running Crunchbang. If someone would be kind enough to list the steps I need to go through to get it installed and running, I'd appreciate it greatly.

[Edit]

Problem has been solved.

I took my laptop over to a buddy of mine's house and tried plugging into his network from there, and lo and behold, it finally connected. After establishing a connection, I followed the directions listed here (http://wiki.debian.org/wl, provided by vicshrike), rebooted my computer, and my wireless driver was working fine.

If you have the binary firmware just put it into /lib/firmware & restart your computer, then configure the wifi.

If I could get connected to a network, that would be perfect, but when I hook up a wired connection, it attempts to connect for a few minutes, displays the "network disconnected" notification, and keeps attempting to reconnect.

I'll give that a shot, fatmac. I'll be sure to reply later after I have a few free minutes.
