I'm half way though the Hobbit (Or There and Back Again) by J. R. R. Tolkien. I plan to move on to read the Lord of the Rings. I watched the movies over Christmas break and now have an unhealthy addiction!

I just reread the Hobbit ahead of the movie and really enjoyed it. I remembered the gist of the story, but forgot some of the lovely detail. I was super pleased with the film too, though I was initially dismayed to hear it would be split into three movies. The Lord of the Rings are definitely worth a read, but I've always like the Hobbit better.

I really love Mr Martins style of writing.  The books are totally engrossing, even when I am dead tired and near sleep I can hardly put them down.

@zhogan85:  Nice! I have the box set, all but the latest.  I love GOT, very addictive, I can see why the TV show has become a favourite of mine.
I will have to put those on the wishlist.

Got the book "Got Fight?: The 50 Zen Principles of Hand-to-Face Combat" by Forrest Griffin for my birthday last week. It's very funny and well written. After that I'll read "PHP Solutions: Dynamic Web Design Made Easy", but I think while reading this my hardware will be ON. monkey

Just finished the Naked Sun, by Isaac Asimov. It was a nice read albeit a bit placid, exactly what I needed.

Almost through with David Foster Wallace's "Infinite Jest" (the gorgeous German translation "Unendlicher Spaß").

Just unbelievable and most addictive (sic ;-)), should go on forever, if it were up to me.

The quick no brainer solution here, is quite possibly Goodreads. If you're looking for new stuff to read based on what you've read on the past and liked a lot, that's the way to go. It's like the last.fm of bookworms.
